concUSD - Concrete's reward-bearing stablecoin
Level: Intermediate · Read time: 5 min · This page covers a product announced in Aug-Sep 2026 and community-maintained coverage may lag the official docs. Sourced from Blueprint Finance's own announcements and reporting on the PayPal/M0/MoonPay PYUSDx platform (CrowdfundInsider, BigGo Finance, Today in DeFi, GitHub-hosted market-update roundups).
What is concUSD?
concUSD is a reward-bearing, dollar-denominated token that Concrete issues as the common liquidity layer across its own vault ecosystem - used for deposits, withdrawals, and integrated lending markets between vaults. Unlike ctAsset vault shares (see Vault shares & yield), which represent a position in one specific vault, concUSD is described as sitting underneath the vaults themselves, as internal plumbing rather than a product you necessarily pick off a vault list.
It was created by turning a portion of Concrete's existing stablecoin-strategy liquidity buffers into this token, with the stated goal of passing better rates and reduced strategy risk back to depositors. At the time of the PYUSDx public launch (early Sept 2026), Concrete's stablecoin-strategy vaults collectively held over $800M in assets - reporting is explicit that this figure describes those vaults' overall size, not the amount of concUSD issued.
How it's issued: the PYUSDx stack
concUSD is issued on PYUSDx, a platform PayPal, M0 and MoonPay took from a private preview to a public launch in September 2026. PYUSDx lets a company issue its own custom on-chain dollar (here, concUSD) that sits on top of PYUSD: each business-issued token is reported to be backed 1:1 by PYUSDx held in an on-chain contract, and PYUSDx itself is backed by PYUSD held in reserve by MoonPay Digital Assets Limited, which issues the PYUSDx tokens. Concrete was one of three initial live issuers on the platform at launch, alongside Saturn (USDat) and Cap (cUSD); the three together processed over $100M in volume on the platform's first live day.
How it relates to AssetCX and $CT
concUSD, AssetCX and $CT are three separate things that are easy to mix up because they were all expanded in the same Aug 2026 funding announcement (see Funding history):
| Thing | What it is |
|---|---|
| concUSD | A reward-bearing stablecoin/liquidity token, issued via PYUSDx. This page. |
| AssetCX | A mechanism that mints a 1:1 on-chain representation of assets held in qualified custody so they can earn vault yield without leaving custody. See Institutional / AssetCX. |
| $CT | Concrete's confirmed but not-yet-launched governance token (fixed 1B supply, no TGE/claim announced as of this guide's last check). See What is Concrete? and the $CT / airdrop tracker. |
What's confirmed vs. not yet public
| Confirmed | Not yet public (as of this guide's last check) |
|---|---|
| concUSD exists, is live, and is issued through PYUSDx. | No contract address for concUSD is documented in official Concrete/Blueprint Finance materials this guide could verify. |
| It is described as reward-bearing and tied to a portion of Concrete's liquidity buffers. | Which chain(s) it's deployed on, its exact reward mechanism, and any redemption process for individual depositors. |
| It functions as a liquidity layer for deposits, withdrawals and lending between Concrete vaults. | Whether/how it's exposed directly in the app.concrete.xyz UI as something a retail depositor holds or interacts with, versus purely internal infrastructure. |
Do not trust any token, contract address or "claim concUSD" link from a source other than [app.concrete.xyz](https://app.concrete.xyz) or [docs.concrete.xyz](https://docs.concrete.xyz). This guide has not been able to independently verify a concUSD contract address, so none is published here or anywhere else in this guide - the same rule this guide applies to the unlaunched $CT token. Always confirm any address on the official app before approving or sending anything.
