Getting started: your first deposit (safely)

Level: Beginner · Read time: 8 min · Educational, not financial advice.

Before you start - checklist

The deposit flow

  1. Open app.concrete.xyz/earn.
  2. Connect wallet. The app requires accepting the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and the address is screened (Chainalysis) for high-risk / restricted-jurisdiction activity.
  3. Pick a vault. Each vault accepts one specific asset (WBTC vault → WBTC, Concrete DeFi USDT → USDT). Vaults marked Permission Required / Permissioned are institutional and you cannot deposit unless approved.
  4. Enter an amount within the vault's minimum/maximum and any deposit cap.
  5. Approve the token (first time only).
  6. Deposit and confirm in your wallet.
  7. Receive shares (ctAsset). Your share count stays constant; each share becomes worth more as the vault earns.

Some vaults support Enso routing, letting you swap and/or bridge from other tokens or chains into the vault in one flow.

After depositing

  • Track your position in Portfolio on the app, or read-only with the community Concrete Tracker.
  • Understand your exit before you enter. Most vaults use a queued withdrawal with epochs; the WBTC vault card at time of writing showed a 21-day withdrawal queue. See Withdrawals.
  • Check whether your vault has a withdrawal cooldown (shown at deposit time).

Verifying a vault address

Every vault card lists its contract address (e.g. 0xf72b…a1c4). Click through to Etherscan, confirm the token name/symbol matches, and compare with the address on the official app. Never trust an address someone sends you in chat.

Safety rules of thumb

  1. Never share your seed phrase or private key - not with "support", not with an "airdrop checker".
  2. Concrete has confirmed its $CT governance token exists (fixed 1B supply), but no TGE or claim process has been announced. Anyone asking you to "connect to claim $CT" today is scamming you.
  3. Use a fresh wallet with limited funds if you are experimenting.
  4. Read-only tools (like the community tracker) never need a signature or approval. If a tool asks you to sign something to "view" your balance, close it.
  5. Double-check URLs: concrete.xyz, app.concrete.xyz, points.concrete.xyz, docs.concrete.xyz, official X: @ConcreteXYZ.
